Tannery Arts supports the professional development of emerging and established artists through the provision of affordable studios
Drawing Room presents a curated exhibition and participation programme with an international perspective and is the UK & European centre for the exploration, appreciation and expression of the language of drawing.
Tannery Arts currently manages 76 studios, housing 84 artists across four properties. These are in Camberwell, Elephant and Castle, and Lewisham, London.
Our studio spaces range in size from 63 sq feet to over 5000 sq feet and are all private, lockable spaces with the exception of shared studios aimed at groups of recent graduates. We also provide a small amount of separate storage space at lower prices. Our pricing per square foot fits the current London definition of affordability that we have worked on with our partners at LAASN. We also work with partner studio providers to increase awareness of the value of affordable studios as a part of Section 106 agreements and our New Tannery Way site, in SE1, is a benchmark for how to achieve such agreements.
Our ambition is to strike the right balance between having sufficient buildings in our portfolio on a range of lease lengths, through which we maintain a strong, sustainable financial platform for our work, while giving affordability and choice of space to artists and retaining a diverse and collegiate community of artists.
