Our Learning projects make drawing relevant and accessible to our community – for schools, teachers, families & local groups. Come and Draw!
Free and open to all, our Library is a unique collection of around 4,000 books dedicated to the exploration of contemporary drawing.

Tannery Arts is a small, independent charity concerned with supporting the professional development of emerging and established artists through the provision of affordable studios, promoting their practice through opportunities to exhibit work, develop projects, generate partnerships with local authorities, private property owners and social housing organisations as well as engage in learning activities.

We are committed to removing barriers for visitors with disabilities and ensuring all our spaces and events are accessible to everyone. We have recently moved into our new building and we are working on improving accessibility to our spaces and information available on our website. Exhibitions in our galleries are free to everyone, Wed–Sun 12-6pm. The gallery is closed between exhibitions.
Our Library is free to use, Tue–Sun 12-6pm, though sometimes it may be closed for events, so if you’re making a special visit, please check in advance by emailing [email protected]
Special events are available to book online through our website and most are Pay What You Can. If you are not able to make a booking online we also accept bookings in person, or email via [email protected] or call 44(0)204 547 6200.

Drawing Room/Tannery Arts Unit 1b New Tannery Way Bermondsey London SE1 5WS
The main entrance to Drawing Room/Tannery Arts is on Grange Road, next to the white Alaska Building. Our building is behind a set of grey steel gates with entry through a pedestrian gate and we are the first building on the right. Access is also via Crimscott Street through a pedestrian gate.
Buses 1, 78 stops outside on Grange Road. 188, 42 stops on Tower Bridge Road. C10 stops at Bermondsey Square.
Tube/Rail London Bridge station then 15 minute walk via Bermondsey Street. Jubilee line to Bermondsey station then 10 minute walk.
Car There is no parking on site, but plenty of paid street parking nearby. The closest paid street parking area to Drawing Room is Crimscott Street – you can pay for your parking by phone on 020 7005 0055, or by using the PayByPhone app. There are 4 Blue Badge disabled parking bays on Spa Road, 200-250m from the gallery.
Our building entrance has step free access. Access to the Gallery, Library, Shop and Toilets are all step free. We have power assisted doors to our gallery and we are in the process of installing these throughout the building. Staff are available to help with accessibility around the building where needed.
Assistance dogs are welcome in all of our spaces.
We have accessible gender-neutral toilets.
Unfortunately, there are no baby changing facilities on site at this point, but we are working to improve facilities in this area.
